Representative Projects
- Wetland and
habitat evaluation of a 286-acre tract of land in Middlesex County,
New Jersey, planned for development as a regional shopping center.
The project involved delineation and characterization of freshwater
and tidal wetlands and habitats along the Rahway River and Arthur
Kill, permit applications including Individual Freshwater Wetlands
Permit, Waterfront Development Permit and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
permits to allow the development to proceed.
- Pilot study related
to a county Sludge Management Plan for the purpose of determining
the environmental and health effects related to the utilization of
chemically stabilized sludge for landfill closure cover.
- Evaluation
of the potential environmental contamination and public health effects
resulting from emissions at the Applied Research Laboratory and the
Pennsylvania Transportation Institute vehicular test track at the
Pennsylvania State University. The facility is the site of tests utilizing
a variety of hazardous materials which are undertaken by the Federal
government, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania
State University. The project consisted of soil sampling, surface
water sampling, groundwater sampling and air sampling for the materials
utilized in the tests. Sample analyses were compiled, utilizing Tier
II Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures, into a report of
the findings of the investigation, along with specific recommendations
for remedial action.
- Evaluation of the installation of a well field
by a large Municipal Water Authority in Centre County, Pennsylvania.
Assessment of the environmental and public health aspects of the installation
on the residents of the community and their wells, as well as the
emergency response capability of the community to hazardous material
incidents related to chemicals utilized by the facility. Computer
analysis of the environmental and health effects of the specific chemicals
via CAMEO program including anticipated plume, concentrations immediately
dangerous to life and health (IDLH) and analysis of the Material Safety
Data Sheets for all chemicals stored and handled on site.
- Soil suitability
and environmental constraints analysis for a 500+ acre tract of land
in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Project involved mapping of site soils,
permeability testing, wetland delineation and habitat assessment.
The assessments were analyzed and compiled into a planning document
to support the project, while simultaneously protecting the environmentally
sensitive areas.
- Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments
(ESA), in accordance with A.S.T.M. Standards E-1527 and E-1528, of
auto body shops, carpet factories, trucking terminals and plastic
manufacturers related to pre-acquisition requirements, refinancing,
and pre transfer analyses. These facilities were assessed for potential
sources of environmental contamination related to the operation and
appropriate sampling conducted as Phase II and applicable sampling
plan requirements dictated.
